Super Reinforced Ceramic

A game-changing replacement for stainless steel and refractory materials in high-temperature and high-stress applications.

The problem

Traditionally, stainless steels have been used for their mechanical and structural strength.

However, at temperatures over 600°C, they start to distort, corrode and degrade. This is typically managed by covering the components with refractory materials.

But under mechanical and thermal stress, other difficulties emerge. The refractory usually cracks or spalls due to impact, differential expansion or thermal cycling—exposing the stainless steel to high temperatures.

The stainless steel then expands, further damaging the refractory coating—which cracks, falls off and eventually leads to complete failure.

The solution

Two decades of innovation have culminated in our proprietary Super Reinforced Ceramic.

SRC incorporates the best properties of stainless steel and refractory materials—into a single composite shape.

SRC structures are comprised of:

  1. the steel reinforcement to stop the progress of micro-cracks through the ceramic;

  2. the ceramic matrix which holds everything together and provides the high-temperature, abrasion and chemical resistance.

In high-temperature, high-stress applications, our product stands unmatched with remarkable longevity and guaranteed breakdown-free performance.

2-5x life cycle
15x mechanical impact
High thermal shock resistance
7x load resistance
High abrasion resistance
